EUGENE (GENE) LEE PIFER

Eugene (Gene) Pifer passed away in Lexington, South Carolina on Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born July 30, 1933. Gene was the son of Edwin Pifer and Helen Paul. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Pifer, daughter, Brooke McKenzie, son, Eric Pifer, and five grandchildren.

Gene was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and served honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Wisconsin during the Korean conflict. He was a watch maker and owned his own jewelry store for a number of years and later was a local businessman in Portage, Michigan, owning his own new car dealership. Automobiles were his passion, along with golf. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Fort Custer Military Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
