Cromer C. Jumper, 88, of Lexington passed away on March 10, 2018 at home. Cromer was born in Springfield to Murray L. Jumper and Minnie Wise Jumper on February 19, 1930. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and retired after 37 years of military and federal service.
Cromer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Verlene Tager Jumper; children, Pam Jumper of Orangeburg, Steve (Laura) Jumper and Kimberly (Charles) Oswald of Lexington, and Sharon (Dan) Settles of Oxford, NC; grandchildren, Lauren (Jeremy) Harmon, Weston Jumper, and Evan (Sherrie) Jumper; and great-grandchildren, Maggie and Henry Harmon.
Cromer was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Reese Jumper, Lurline Walling, and Valerie Weld.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Rd, Lexington SC. Reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Matthews Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Ste L, Anderson SC 29621.
