Charles (Pebo) Dickerson, Jr. went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 11, 2018. Pebo was born on September 3, 1974 to Charles “Pedro” and Tina Dickerson.
He attended Grace Christian, graduated from BC High School and Newberry College where he played baseball. As a youth, he was actively involved in Dixie Youth Baseball and was fortunate enough to represent West Columbia at two Dixie Youth World Series, where the love of the game led him to coaching. He spent many years coaching and mentoring his son and many other young athletes who became his “bonus” children. He was also an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Pebo was owner of Dickerson Janitorial, with his main emphasis being on the maintenance and upkeep of Northside Christian Academy, which he loved very much. He was a loyal, devoted and loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to all. He was the happiest when he was grilling and cooking for his family and friends or late night antics with his children. To know him was to love him!
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennie Dorn; children, Brandon and Raegan Dickerson; sister, Melissa “Missy” Dickerson; nephew, Dawson Dash Dickerson; grandmother, Nancy Johnson; mother-in-law, Paulette Dorn; brother-in-law, William Dorn; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Wilson and Mollie Dickerson and Billy Matthews.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church, Lexington, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made in his honor to Palmetto Health Richland Children’s Hospital or Cayce/West Columbia Dixie Youth Baseball program.
