My deepest condolences to you, Harry, and to your family, on Betty's illness and death. I loved singing in choir with her. She was always so cheerful and welcoming and has such a lovely soprano voice. May you know that you are surrounded by God's love and the love of your brothers and sisters in Christ from Lovely Lane as you go through this time of grief.

Sending condolences to family friends Hank & Kelly & Curt and spouses extended. We recall periodic stories of social gatherings with H & B & my folks and others at Lovely Lane church over the decades. My husband was first introduced to Betty through her pie. For we had traveled well over 900 miles one September crossing the fine states of Colorado & Nebraska and on to Eastern Iowa. Where we found ourselves hovering at my folks refrigerator late into the night of my grandmother's passing. We sat tired at a quiet darkened kitchen table eating Betty's fresh baked cherry pie. My husband sighed -- "I would drive another 900 miles just to eat Betty Widmer's cherry pie". Lovely indeed. Very lovely cheerful lady. Our sympathies to you.

I loved singing next to Betty in Lovely Lane UMC choir for many years. Betty always had the perfect pitch. She was the poet laureate who composed the annual choir hilites poem to be read at the Christmas party at Leah Nelson's. Betty made the best cherry pie ever to be gifted at Christmas time. Don and I celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries with the "Brunch Bunch". . We will miss our good friend and send love and prayers for Hank and family. God bless you all..
