West Columbia- Services for Betty Y. Lindler, 85, will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, 3011 Leaphart Rd. in West Columbia with burial at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, 407 St. Andrew’s Rd. in Columbia.
Betty passed away March 11, 2018. Born on January 7, 1933 to the late Callie D. Koon Younginer and Joseph Deaton Younginer Sr., she was a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1952. Betty was a current member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church and a prior member of Reformation Lutheran Church. She worked at the Baptist Hospital Beauty Shop and taught flower-arranging at Midlands Tech and Lexington Continuing Education. She made many appearances on ETV Garden Spot. Betty was a Charter member of the SC Iris Society and Broad River Garden Club, a member of the National Judges Association of SC, and a National Accredited Emeritus Judge. Betty was the Owner of Betty’s Flowers for 35 years. Her hobbies included: quilting, gardening, flower-arranging, and collecting PIGS.
Survived by her daughters: Becky Wise (Randy) and Nancy Addison (Jamie), grandchildren: Abby Dugan (Billy) and Mandy Wise, great-grandchildren: Jake and Karl Dugan, dedicated niece: Jo Leach, and lifelong friends: Janice Hull and Bobbie Black. She was predeceased by her parents and her close brother, Walter “Bubba” Younginer. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church or to the Talking Book Services at the SC State Library.
