Aubrey Rose Rucker

Aubrey Rose Rucker, 21, left this earthly world the morning of Friday, August 25th, 2017. Though her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in the fact that she is, without a doubt, now at rest with her heavenly father, where there is no pain or sorrow. Aubrey was an amazing person with a free spirit and open mind. She touched the lives of everyone she met and was a true and loyal friend. With a compassionate heart, Aubrey had tremendous empathy for people, especially those suffering with depression and the elderly.

Aubrey was born on February 20th, 1996 in Columbia, SC. She was a 2014 graduate of South Carolina Virtual Charter School. From an early age Aubrey fell in love with horses, following in the family footsteps. She became an avid rider, eventually with her own thoroughbred horse, Ivar. Growing up, she was encouraged by her dad to play baseball and softball. She did so from the age of 6 to 16 in Lexington and Gilbert, often coached by her dad.  Extremely artistic, Aubrey loved taking photographs, drawing, and painting. Her family and friends are left with countless examples of her beautiful art work to treasure.

Aubrey is survived by her father and mother, Glenn & Mary Catherine Carroll Rucker, two brothers, Dawson Davis Rucker & Rivers Morrow Rucker; paternal grandfather Glenn Rucker Senior, paternal grandmother, Emily Furtick Outlaw; maternal grandparents, Henry & Patricia Carroll; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and her faithful canine companion, Panda.

Service will be held Thursday, August 31st at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Gilbert, SC at 4pm. Pallbearers will be Woody Rucker, Jordan Rucker, Wyatt Rucker, Ryan Grubbs, Carter Love and Danny Ross. Friends may call at The Barr-Price Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to or Pets Inc. of Lexington, SC or LMC Extended Care, both of which she volunteered for in her teen years.
