Althea June Hall passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Known as June by all who knew and loved her, she was born in Washington DC, on January 10, 1941, of the parents Earnest Schifflett and Lorene Rion Schifflett. She grew up in southern Maryland and lived most of her life in Columbus, OH. Through the years, family and friends were scattered countrywide and June lived passionately with the purpose and dedication of keeping these long chains of relationships intact and unbroken. Words cannot measure the depth of love, courage, integrity, purity, and compassion for a life well lived, especially cherishing and nourishing the power of such a goal. As her sister, Betty Anne, said it best, "This brings a silent invisible halo."

A member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, she combined her love of photography, genealogy, and scrap booking to make great family albums. She shared her passion for cooking with family and friends; always using her special ingredient "love" and even publishing a cookbook to share her recipes with all. A more recent venture was the creation of her sewing project, "June Bag", handbags often gifted to loved ones. Ms. June loved to travel and everyone always waited to hear of her latest travels, adventures, or experiences, which always ended in a scrapbook. The adventures ranged from camping, boating, water and snow skiing, golf, hot air ballooning, para sailing, MD blue crabbing, fishing. She was proud and passionate about life; especially about moments like the time she was part of the Woody Hayes production when she kept her husband, Jeff, on cue. Ms. June was an avid card player who enjoyed playing bridge and poker. Above all for her family, especially the "little ones", she was an accomplished role model.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Mitchell; brothers, Rodney and Russell; niece, Sandra Plemen; nephew, Christopher Irwin. Survivors include her beloved husband, Jeffrey Hall; sons, Daniel (Elaine), Wayne (Nancy), Michael (Christine) Schmidt; four grandchildren, Haley, Nathan, Max, and Ryan Schmidt; step children, Kimberly (Steve) Lindquist, Susan (Kevin) Wilson, Colleen (Jeremiah) Light; step grandchildren, Paige and Jill Lindquist, Brian and Matthew Wilson, Brenda and Brookleyn Light; sister, Betty Anne Irwin and her granddaughter, Christine Plemen; nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o'clock, Friday, June 23, 2017, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Ln., Columbia, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Barr-Price Funeral Home, and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
