Algie Clifford Roberts, husband of the late Betty Amick Roberts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Lexington Extended Care following a short illness.
Born May 29, 1927 in Columbia, SC, he was one of twelve children born to the late Walter C and Mary B Roberts where they resided in Olympia community.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. After 29 years of service he retired from the Columbia Fire Department, and later started his own business. He is survived by daughters Deborah (Wayne) Frazier and Catherine (John) Smith, three grandchildren Scotty (Stacy) Frazier, Dean (Tammy) Smith, and Sharon (Matthew) Cooper, two great-grandchildren Delaney Frazier, and Cameron Smith, his sister Margie Goeke, and brothers Leverne and David Roberts, and special friend Geneva Domm. He was predeceased by eight of his siblings.
Friends may call Friday, June 16, 2017 between the hours of 10 to 6 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date.
