Mittie Ruth "Dolly" Price

We are sad to announce the passing of Mittie Ruth “Dolly” Price of Leesville. Dolly passed away at the age of 83 on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Dolly was born on June 11, 1940 in Leesville, SC to the late George W. Smith and Esther Senn Smith. Dolly was the loving wife to the late John Price. She was a dedicated employee of JB Martin Co from which she retired. Dolly loved listening to the Inspirations Quartet, bird watching, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her brother, George W. Smith Jr.; sister-in-law, Peggy S. Swygert; step-brother, Ralph Hall (Becky); step-sister, Earlene Swygert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, John H. Price; brothers, James Smith (Bo) and Gene Smith; sisters, Loretta Smith, Edna Storey, and Mary Jane Palmer; step-mother, Myrtie Oswalt Hall Smith; step-brothers, Brent Hall, J.B. Hall, Truett Hall, and Cliff Hall; step-sisters, Carrie Lou Spurlock and Irene Smith; and many other friends and family.

The funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Enon Lutheran Church with the Rev. Reggie Cruse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enon Lutheran Church, 4100 Pond Branch Road, Leesville SC, 29070. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
