James Carl “Jim” Forsyth, born April 1, 1939, in Sparta, TN, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024. James Carl, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. His work as an Industrial Engineer then later as a realtor allowing him to help countless families find their dream homes, and his service in the U.S. Army demonstrated his commitment to his country. James Carl was a proud member of the Springdale Masonic Lodge # 412 and the Dolorosa Worship Center, where he served faithfully for many years.
James Carl is survived by his wife Sylvia Forsyth, his son Mark Forsyth (Becky), and his daughters Linda Wheatley and Sandra Keisler. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy into his life. James Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Arlin and Mammie Forsythe, son, Dwayne Hoots, daughter, Audrea Raley, brother, Junior Forsyth and a sister, Inize Williams.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Dolorosa Worship Center, located at 365 Old Charleston Rd., Pelion, South Carolina, 29123, from 12:00pm-1:45pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. All services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
