Shirley H Hood

Funeral services for Shirley H. Hood, 66, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Dixianna Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Platt officiating.  Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Saturday 6-8:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Born in Columbia, Ms. Hood was the daughter of the late Herman and Carrie Lucas Helms.  She passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 and was a member of Dixianna Baptist Church. She worked as a cost accountant.

Surviving are her sons, Chris Lucas (Meredith),  Brian Hood (Stacey), and Jerry Hood;  6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Michael (Terrie), Ronnie (Tracey), Mark, Clay and Phil Helms; sister, Carolyn Chavis (Randy).

She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Helms.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX 75231.
