Mr. Sammie "Fate" Lafayette Baird passed away March 24, 2017. Born May 4, 1927 in Bulloch County Georgia, he was the son of the late Willie Baird and Nancy Buzhardt Baird. Mr. Baird is a WWII Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Carolina Eastman in Columbia, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ada Jewell Scott Baird; children, Sammie Baird (Suzanne), Karla Davis (Hal), and Barry Baird (Melissa); grandchildren, Haley Baird, Reid Baird, Anna Davis, Shellie Davis, Mason Baird, and Evan Baird; great-granddaughter, Gracie Davis.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Concord Baptist Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park in Batesburg-Leesville.
