Roland "Monroe" Meetze, 73, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born October 12, 1943 in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Lucile Yenny Meetze and the late Junnie Monroe Meetze.
An Air Force Veteran and 29 year employee of SCEG, Mr. Meetze enjoyed working on his long time project of rebuilding and restoring his Austin Healey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anita Meetze; son Roland Monroe Meetze, Jr.; mother; brothers Gary Joe Meetze, William David Meetze; sisters Marie Ramsey, Faye Brown, Sandra Brant, and Jean Carter. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Anita Meetze.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the CNA's and nurses of Heartstring Hospice for their compassion and care of Mr. Meetze.
