CSM Ralf William Heimbuecher, 100, passed away June 20, 2017. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Ralf was born in March 27, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Laura Jean and William Samuel Heimbuecher. In 1942, he joined the Armed Forces serving in Germany during World War II. After the war, he was a First Sergeant in a tank outfit. He was transferred to the border police where he was in charge of a small unit of military police in Berchtesgaden, Germany. He was transferred back to the states where he did a short tour in Ohio. He returned to Germany to the 7751 Military Police. It was during this tour in Austria that he met the love of his life, the late Ann Hoelzl, whom he married November 5, 1955 in Bremhaven, Germany. Ann became a citizen of the United States in 1958 in Seattle, Washington. CSM Heimbuecher was a brave and loyal soldier, retiring to North Augusta in 1973. Ralf and Ann lived in North Augusta since retirement enjoying the joys of home ownership. Ralf enjoyed boxing and baseball as a youth. He was a very loving husband to Ann.

He is survived by a brother, Leonard James Heimbuecher, of Dayton, OH.

Burial with military honors will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
