Martin C Shumpert

Martin "Shump" Shumpert went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017 surrounded by family reliving his stories and memories. 

Martin is the son of H. Claude and Mertise Shumpert. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Nuovo(Scott) and Kathy Langford(Edward); Three grandchildren, Michelle and Joshua Nuovo, and Angela Spires; Three great-grandchildren, Ella, Caroline and Mason Colley; His siblings Luther Shumpert(Dixie), Julia Hoffman and Evelyn Hoffman along with numerous family and friends.  

Martin spent his years working hard on the farm and helping everyone he could. He was a lover of his family, caring for his farm animals, agriculture, beekeeping, working at the State Fair, and was employed by Sox Fence Company for many decades. 

Visitation will be at Barr Price Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11th from 6-8pm. His celebration of life will be on Wednesday, July 12th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, West Columbia at 11am, followed by burial services.
