Joann Jaco McKinney

Funeral services for Joann Jaco McKinney, 84, will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Neely Friendship Class.

Mrs. McKinney passed away at her home on Thursday, June 29, 2017.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Eloise Neely Jaco and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for 40 years and held various positions  within the church.

Surviving are her sons, Kenny (Beatrice), Sonny (Jeanne), Darrel (Iris), Rafe (Carolyn) and Joey (Heidi) McKinney; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Jim Jaco; sisters, Betty Wise, Frances McCurdy, Mary Pierce, Nancy Burnett and Bobbie McGee.   She was predeceased by her husband, William Kenneth McKinney.

The family would like to give special thanks to Lutheran Hospice; Robin Wolfe, RN, Patrice Haltiwanger, Aide, Teresa Tidwell, Social Worker and Rev. Dr. Karen Young for their loving care. 

Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene Mission Fund, 901 Saint Andrews Rd., Columbia, SC 29210.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
