Jeavene Horne Hamilton

Annie Jeavene Hamilton, daughter of the late Essie Mae Williams Horne and Willie Addison Horne, grew up in Baxley, GA. She attended Dyal School, where she excelled in her studies and played on the girl’s basketball team.  Later, she worked at the local drugstore and at Miller’s Dress Factory, and eventually for Southern Bell, where she retired after more than 30 years of service.

Jeavene was a loyal and devoted wife and mother, who always sacrificed her own needs for those of her family. Her favorite thing to do was to crochet beautiful afghans for friends and family.  She would also crochet lap robes for the elderly in nursing homes and make baby caps and booties for the preemies.  Jeavene remained sharp and active throughout her 84 years and was loved and greatly respected more than she would ever know. She will be missed by her dear friends and family. God rest her soul and may she remain in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William M. Hamilton. She has 1 surviving sister, Jo Lene Horne of Baxley, GA, her children Robin Lynn Hamilton Sisco of Columbia, SC, her son, William Douglas Hamilton (Melissa) of Lexington, SC,  4 Grandchildren, Hayley and Victoria Hamilton of Lexington, SC,  Jessica Sisco and Jami Sisco Watford (Nicholas) of Columbia, SC, and 1 great-grandson, Emmett Watford.
