James "Jimmy" E. Reid

James "Jimmy" E. Reid, 76, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Born December 11, 1941 in Macon, GA, he was a son of the late Jacob Christopher Reid and Dessie Marie Hester Reid.

Jimmy loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time in the mountains. He loved to fix things and enjoyed "tinkering".

Survivors include his daughters Margie Desie Curl, Cynthia Denise Reid, Tammy Lynn Scarborough, Deborah Anderson, Cynthia Ricard (Allen); son James Baxter (Barbara); brothers Ronnie Reid, Bubba Wall; sister-in-law Debbie Reid; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Baxter Reid; son Johnny Christopher Reid; eight brothers; and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2373 Calks Ferry Rd., Lexington. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 2-3:15 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Barr-Price Funeral Home, and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
