Grace Magdalene Price Norris

Grace Magdalene (Price) Norris, 99, went to see her Lord Friday, October 6, 2017 following a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma.  She had been a resident at Morningside of Lexington since April of 2015.  Grace was born to Calvin and Hattie (Derrick) Price on June 12, 1918, the fourth of 12 siblings.  She was predeceased by her husband, mother, father, and all siblings, Cleburn, Elberta, Lizzie Mae and T J, Herman, Eunice, Daniel, Miley, Annie Belle, and two who died in infancy.  She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1940 and married Randolph W. Norris, Jr. April 11, 1941. 

With World War II raging, Grace trained as a parachute packer and worked as such for the Army Air Force for the duration of the conflict.  Following the war, she held sales positions with various companies and service providers, ultimately retiring to the various homes she occupied in the West Columbia area.  Following her working career, Grace occupied herself with gardening and various horticultural activities.  By all measures, she could be considered to have been a Master Gardener!  A long time member and benefactor of Cayce Methodist Church, she loved her congregation and held it in her mind until the end.

She is survived by a son, Charles Randolph (Randy) Norris of White Bluff TN and multiple nieces, nephews, grand nephews and nieces. 

Her service will be held at Cayce United Methodist Church, 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017 with interment to follow  at Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia.  Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Cayce United Methodist Church or Morningside of Lexington, 218 Old Chapin Rd., Lexington, SC 29072.  The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside, BeWell Home Services and All Seasons Hospice.
