Gordon "Leroy" Rogers

Gordon “Leroy” Rogers, beloved husband of Kathy Rogers, passed away June 10, 2017 at the age of 68. He was born in Gordon county, GA to the late Hobert and Agnes Rogers. Services will be held Wednesday June 14, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church 3254 Princeton Rd. West Columbia, SC 29170. He will be laid to rest at Southland Memorial Gardens.
Gordon is survived by his wife Kathy of Lexington, SC; sons Reggie (Amy) Rogers of Ochlocknee, GA, Tommy Rogers of West Columbia, SC, Travis (Jennifer) Rogers of Pelion, SC, Jamie Rogers of Ochlocknee, GA, daughter Sheila (Steve) Mills of Cairo, GA Stepsons; Michael (Rachel) Cooper and Chris Young. Also grandchildren; Nikki Smith, Hunter Rogers, Carrie Ellen Rogers, Micky Rogers, Ricky Rogers, JC Rogers, Casey Rogers, Dusty Rogers, Luke Rogers, Savannah Rogers, Freddie Smithwick, Tyler Smithwick, Jennifer Caron, Angela Gancerez, Bruce Hale, Chris Hale, Alex Cooper, Isabella Cooper, and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Harvey Rogers and sister Betty Jean Smith. Predeceased by daughter Candy Rebecca Rogers, son Hobie Rogers, and brother Clinton Rogers
Gordon was an avid George Jones fan and enjoyed fishing and wood working. His wife would like to send a huge thank you to the nurses and doctors who took care of him and named him “Superman” where he is now flying in heaven.
