Floyd "Dale" O'Dale Hargis

Floyd O'Dale "Dale" Hargis, Jr., 49, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. Born March 21, 1968, in Imzir, Turkey, he was a son of Jane Carolyn Hargis and the late Floyd O'Dale Hargis, Sr.

A graduate of Newberry College, Dale went on to earn his Master's degree in Education Administration at USC. A teacher at Will Lou Gray, he formerly taught at Swansea High School and was an assistant football coach. Dale loved sports and music and was known to play guitar during his free time.

Survivors include his mother Carolyn; son Ryan Roof-Hargis; and his mother Kathy Roof-Collins. In addition to his father, Dale was preceded in death by his sisters Debbie Shealy and Donna Young Burgess.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m.  Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 Center Point Cir., Columbia, SC, 29210.
