Ezelle Spann

September 22, 1924 ~ November 13, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old


 Ezelle Spann, affectionally known as "Zeke" entered into eternal life at C. M. Tucker Nursing Care Center, Columbia, SC on Monday, November 13, 2017.

Ezelle was born September 22, 1924 in Camden, SC to the late Murray Sr. and Charity Brevard Spann.  Ezelle received his early Christian Training in Sanders Creek Baptist Church where he was baptized and later joined The Trustee Ministry. Ezelle education was received in Sweethome Elementary School, Cassett, SC and Kirkwood School in Camden, SC.

It should be known that Ezelle was a combat veteran in World II. He was drafted to fight for our great country at the outbreak of the war. Ezelle a world war II Veterans, served his country in the European Theater. His military occupational specialty was in the Transportation Corp. of the United States Army and he was sent to Europe to haul military supplies, Ezelle rose to the rank of corporal. Shortly after serving his country, Ezelle migrated to New York where he became employed at the Gypsy Paint Company for over 30 years.

Those left to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Ethel Welch Spann; sisters, Ethel (James) Flecther and Jerri (Ret. Col. Richard) Singleton; brother, James Edward (Sandye) Spann; a host of nieces, Pamela Brodie, Courtney Bailey and Roberta Spann, nephews, Gary Singleton, Kenneth Spann, Jeffrey Fletcher and Rev. Phillip R. A. Spann, two sisters-in-law, Jessie Kirkland Spann and Sandye Spann, two loyal and dedicated cousins, Sammy and Sandra Boyd of Lawton, OK and a host of relatives and friends.
