Evetta Smith Obituary

Services for Evetta Risinger Smith, 90, will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Pond Branch UMC with the Rev. Linda Dunn officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Pond Branch UMC, 1913 Pond Branch Rd. Gilbert, SC 29054.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Born in Leesville on August 21, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E.  and Eva Rikard Risinger.  She was a member of Pond Branch UMC and the Silver Society.  Mrs. Evetta retired from Shealy's Bar-B-Que and was known as the "Sweet Tea Lady." She was married to the love of her life Cornell Shealy Smith for 36 years. 

They were blessed with five children, Betty Hoffmann (John), Mikel, Anne Blocker (Paul), Eva Kaigler (Rusty); sisters, Rubye Dellinger and Mary Ergle; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Cornell Smith, son, Tony Smith, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Smith, great-grandchild, Skielar Spigner, and a sister Sara Shealy.
