On May 8, 2017 Emrie Oda Ricard, son of the late Emrie Ricard and Lila Mitchell, passed into eternity with our Heavenly Father. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred Ricard, his son Stephen (Alice) Ricard, his daughter Pam (John) Hamilton and 4 grandchildren, Tracy (Donna) Ricard Greenville, SC, Jody (Stephanie) Ricard Lexington, SC, Manda (Jeff) Barefoot Hartsville, SC and Jonathan (Christina) Hamilton McDonough, GA and granddaughter-in-law Carrie Skaggs Anniston, AL. He had 10 great-grandchildren; Hudson, Perry-Jayne, Maddie, Toby, Madison, Annie, Sammy, and Macey-Grace Ricard, Alex and Bennett Barefoot, and one brother Harold (Jimmy) Ricard of Batesburg-Leesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Cory Ricard.
The visitation for Mr. Emrie Oda Ricard will be at 10 am, funeral services to begin at 11 am, all to be held at First Calvary Baptist Church, Leesville, SC on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
He served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church for many years teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, serving on the Deacon Board and being used of the Lord wherever he could serve. Mr. Ricard later stepped out to help start a new church becoming a founding member of Lake Murray Baptist Church in Lexington, SC and a member of the Senior adults Sunday School Class. He truly was a man that loved the Lord and God’s people.
