Duane Lawrence Senf, 72, passed away Friday, October 27th after a short illness. He was born in Estherville Iowa on December 16th, 1944. He was the son of Raymond and Alena Senf. He and his family moved from Fairmont Minnesota to Lexington, SC in 1983. Duane and his wife would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer. He retired from the SC Department of Social Services and was a devoted member of Bethel UMC serving on numerous committees and in leadership positions.
He is survived by his wife Carol Lyn Corbett Senf; son, Steve Lee Senf and wife Melissa Householder Senf. He was a devoted grandfather to his 4 grandchildren, Alena, Max, Carter, and Ayla. He is also survived by his Brother, Maynard Senf and sisters Karen Kraft and Kathy Johnson. He was predeceased by a stepson Michael Bortvit, and sister Lila Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at Bethel UMC on Friday November 3rd, 2017 at 4pm with a reception and meal following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel UMC.
