Doris E Harris

Services for Doris E. Harris will be 11:00 am., Thursday June 15, 2017 at Midlands Christian Church. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Doris went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 13, 2017. She was born in Cleveland, OH on August 9, 1925 to parents George and Mary Beard. She was married to Robert "Bob" Harris for 64 years, she now joins Bob in the presence of our savior, Jesus Christ and with His Heavenly Father. Doris leaves behind three, children, Mark Harris, Jane Simmons and Ken Harris and their spouses, Kathy, Bob and Sandra, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Bob and Doris moved to Columbia, SC in 1961 and Doris was a dedicated mother and wife. After her children were grown, she worked for Babcock Center and then Moore Business Forms until her retirement. Doris and Bob were long time members at Midlands Christian Church. Doris lived a full 91 year life and her main loves in life were serving Jesus, by service to those in need in nursing homes and especially her family and her church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her faithfulness and kind acts of love. The family extends our sincere gratitude to the Midlands Christian Church Family, their long time minister, Tim Brokaw and to Marilyn Dooley, Barbara Sox and Vera Miller, who came so many Wednesdays to visit and love her when she needed it most.
