David A Holstein

David Ammons Holstein passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of November, 1st. David, who resided in Greenville, SC, was the son of the late Richard H. Holstein III and Patricia Ammons Holstein. David was born in Orangeburg, SC, on April 13, 1971 and attended Batesburg-Leesville High School, where he played basketball and golf. He graduated from Clemson University in Financial Management, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity maintaining lifelong friendships through this affiliation. David is survived by his sister, Paula Holstein Herzberg, her husband Dan and their children, Stella and Sarah of Mt. Holly, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Richard H. (Rick) Holstein IV, his wife Melanie and their children Steven and Robert Wardlaw and Anne-Elise (Poppin) Holstein. David will share a visitation with his father at his family home at 294 Holstein Ridge Road, Monetta, SC on Sunday November 5th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

David was a real estate appraiser whose work was requested across the southeast because of his expertise in commercial real estate. He worked with both his father and brother in the real estate appraisal business. A lifelong Clemson fan, he always appeared happiest in his box seats in the North Stands of Death Valley at every home game with his legion of close friends. David will be sorely missed by his family, close network of friends, and professional colleagues.
