C. B. Elkins, Jr.

 C.B. Elkins Jr., 75, of Lexington passed away on Thursday April 20, 2017 at home after a courageous battle with ALS.

   The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. A funeral service will be held Monday April 24 at 11 am at Mt. Horeb UMC, Lexington. Burial will follow the service at Woodridge Memorial Park.

   C.B. was born on August 12, 1941 in Denmark, SC to the late Charlie Benjamin Elkins, Sr., and late Elizabeth Smoak Elkins. He was a graduate of Denmark High School and served in the National Guard. He retired from the railroad, CSX Corp., after a forty year career and enjoyed his post retirement job at All South FCU as a joyful bank teller for almost 15 years.

   C.B. was a devoted husband to his wife of 32 years and a loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

   C.B. is survived by his loving and caring wife, Elaine Elkins; sons, Blair (Ana) of Elgin, Brad (Cyndy) of Raleigh, Berry Hawkins of Lexington; daughter, Carolyn Walker (Kevin) of Lexington; his 7 grandchildren, Jordan Harmon, Makinna, and James Elkins (Blair & Ana); Colin and Scarlett Elkins (Brad & Cyndy); Aubrey and Isabella Walker (Carolyn & Kevin); sister, Jeanette Darnell of Hanahan.
