Bernard Shirer

Memorial services for Burchill Bernard Shirer, 71, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Chapin Baptist Church.   Visitation will follow immediately after the service at the church.

Mr. Shirer was born in Columbia, SC and was the son of the late J. B. and Dorothy Still Shirer. He passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was a member of Chapin Baptist Church and was employed with the SC Criminal Justice Academy.  He retired from the SC National Guard as a Staff Sgt.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Braxton Shirer; son, Chris Shirer; daughter, Melanie Shirer Hines (Craig); grandchildren, Dalton, Logan and Keegan Hines.

He was a simple man of faith.  He loved his family.  His grandchildren were the joy of his life.
