Alice Koon Crapps

Alice Shirey Koon Crapps died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Generations of B-L at the age of 105. Born May 3, 1912 on Lake Murray, she was one of nine children of the late Charlie Theadare and Rebecca Jane Shirey Koon. She was a member of Old Lexington Baptist Church and the WMU, a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church WELCA and was a member of the Ridge Road Community Club.
Services will be conducted at 4:00 pm Sunday September 24, 2017 at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a reception after the service in the Fellowship Hall. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen C. Rumph (Dr. Kirk Rumph) of Charleston, grandchildren Kirk Rumph, Jr., (Cynthia), Dr. Dan Rumph (Dr. Brooke Bode), great grandchildren, Mary Kathleen, Lily, Daniel and Will Rumph, all of Charleston, sisters-in-law, Jennie Bruce Koon of Lexington and Florine Crapps of Leesville.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ansel Caughman Crapps, siblings, Ruth Seigler (Will), Mary Lee Hallman (Marrell), Julia Lybrand (Quincy), Sara Swygert (Ray), Elihu Koon, Charles Koon (Willie Mae), George Koon, and Rev. Carl Koon.
